The event is mainly for Dr. Shavit's patients and their parents, but it is open to all Maccabi members — children and adults.

Flu is a highly contagious respiratory illness. Most cases resolve without medication, but some become severe enough to need hospitalization — or worse. Children under five, especially under two, catch it easily and face a higher risk of complications.

From 6 months of age — and it is recommended.

Many people have no side effects at all. Local reactions at the injection site are relatively common and usually fade within two days. Mild general symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, headache, or fatigue can appear and typically last a day or two. Serious reactions are extremely rare (a few cases per million vaccinated) and less common than complications from flu itself.

Yes. A nasal spray vaccine is available for children from age two. We try to get enough from Maccabi for everyone who wants it, but supply is not guaranteed.

Children from 6 months to 9 years who have not previously received two flu vaccine doses need two doses at least four weeks apart. Children who already had two doses in the past, and adults, need one dose each year.

You can book a nurse appointment at any Maccabi branch. Children in grades 2–4 often receive the vaccine at school. You can also book a regular visit with Dr. Shavit on another date — call the clinic first to confirm vaccine stock.
